Pool Heat Pump FAQ

Savings & running costs

How much can a heat pump save me?

A lot. Because an inverter heat pump moves heat instead of burning fuel, it delivers several units of heat for every unit of electricity it draws — typically 40–60% less than running a gas heater. Our Savings Calculator gives you an estimate for your own pool.

Is it really cheaper than gas?

Yes, for ongoing heating. Gas is cheaper to buy up front but far more expensive to run. Most owners recover the difference within a few seasons and keep saving after that.

Delivery & installation

Is installation included?

No — the unit is installed by your own qualified electrician or pool professional. It connects into your existing pool pump and filter circuit and your power supply. We include a clear installation guide, and our team is happy to help along the way.

How is it delivered?

It ships free and fully insured by freight, on a pallet, to your door across the US, Canada and the UK — with the correct voltage and refrigerant for your region. Inspect it on arrival and report any transit damage within 48 hours.

Performance

What makes PoolWarmers different?

  • Full-DC inverter — varies its speed to hold your temperature efficiently, instead of switching noisily on and off.
  • Titanium heat exchanger — built to resist salt and pool chemistry for the long haul.
  • Heats and cools — warms your pool in the shoulder seasons and can gently cool it in a summer heatwave.
  • WiFi app control — manage temperature, schedules and modes from your phone.

Does it work in cooler weather?

Yes. A DC-inverter heat pump pulls warmth from the air across a wide temperature range and keeps heating when mornings dip below freezing. As with every heat pump, output naturally tapers in very cold conditions — size up a model if you heat in a cold climate or want to swim year-round.

Warranty & support

What warranty is included?

A 2-year warranty on the complete unit, plus a 5-year warranty on the compressor — the heart of the system. See our Warranty page for full details.

What maintenance does it need?

Very little. Keep the inlet filter clean, keep your water chemistry balanced, and have it checked over once a year. In winter — or any time the temperature drops below freezing while the unit is switched off — drain the water from it, as freezing damage isn't covered by the warranty.
